About Jay
Hey! I am Jay, I am a second year university student studying economics at the LSE. I was born and brought up in Bath and love going back for the holidays. I enjoy playing golf, going on walks and spending time with friends and family. I am doing my grade 8 piano and trying to teach myself the drums! I want to tutor because I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to improve and work on things that they struggle with and may not get help with at school. I see it as a way to achieve and learn things you never thought you could and that is my favourite part of helping students improve and get better at the things they once really struggled with.

I have been tutoring for over four years now and have tutored students from primary school to A-level. I get to know what students want to get out of tutoring (e.g. learn specific topics, improve test scores, technique etc.) and then target each lesson towards their goals. E.g. if in maths they struggle with fractions, I would make a mini brief sheet outlining all the different techniques and explain it to them, then go through examples and see if they are okay with it and then finally give practice questions to them to see how they tackle questions without help. Typical length of a lesson: 1-2 hours
