About Shefali

I'm 15 and in Macleans. I would love to work with kids to help them improve in subjects they are struggling with, or subjects they enjoy and want to learn more about outside of school! I'm patient and grades don't matter, the important thing is to understand and get better.

About the lesson

I can teach ages 5-13, at home or in a public space. 45 min to 1 hour 15 minute lessons.
I think having an organized syllabus with topics and breaking them all into 1 hour lessons is the best. Being flexible with lesson timing is important to me since I know that some concepts are easier to grasp than others. I think first going through theory for 15 to 30 minutes then tackling actual questions is best since it immediately tests what someone has just learned. Every few lessons I think there should be a small test to recall past topics that have been learned since for subjects like math it's common to forget after not practicing for a while. It's really hard to make math a more fun and interactive lesson so I think being patient and making it a safe space for questions is the best way to go!
