About Lucas

My name is Lucas, I’m from Brazil and currently living in Chicago. I’ve always been passionate about languages, culture, and communication — and teaching became a natural path for me. I’m fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish, and I love helping people feel confident when expressing themselves in a new language. I have a degree in Law from UNASP (Brazil), and I lived in Chile for over five years, which allowed me to fully learn Spanish in a natural environment. I’ve been in the U.S. for over three years, and I use English daily both socially and professionally. What drives me as a tutor is connection. I enjoy creating relaxed, respectful spaces where students feel safe to practice, make mistakes, and grow. I personalize each lesson to fit your goals and learning style, and I bring cultural aspects, real-life examples, and lots of patience into our sessions. If you're looking for a committed, friendly, and adaptable tutor to help you improve your Portuguese, I’d be happy to work with you.

About the lesson

I believe learning a new language should feel natural and motivating — not stressful or overwhelming. My method is all about real-life use, clear explanations, and helping you feel confident from the start. In a typical lesson, we begin with a short conversation to warm up, then move into a focused topic like useful vocabulary or grammar (always in context). After that, we practice through guided exercises, role-play, and real conversations — all tailored to your goals. If you want extra practice, I can send short tasks between lessons too. What makes my classes different is that I keep things relaxed, encouraging, and personal. I’ve learned languages myself, so I know the challenges. I always aim to create a space where you feel safe to make mistakes and grow. I also bring cultural insights, native expressions, and a lot of patience to each session. My lessons are great for beginners and intermediate learners, no matter your reason: travel, work, moving abroad, or just wanting to speak more naturally. I adapt the content to your rhythm, your interests, and your everyday life. If you're looking for a tutor who’s friendly, flexible, and truly wants to see you improve, I’m here to help. Let’s take this journey together!

Recomendo demais, me ajudou bastante, não me ensinou nesse site, mas tive aulas presencialmente, um amigo me indicou e eu e minha esposa começamos aulas com o Lucas, sou muito grato pois me ajudou muito no meu trabalho e viagens!
Recomendo se você quer aprender a se comunicar com mais naturalidade e se pretende aprender do zero. Treinar conversação foi o que mais me ajudou. Muito Obrigado Lucas!

I really recommend him, he helped me a lot, he didn't teach me on this site, but I had face-to-face lessons, a friend recommended him to me and my wife and I started lessons with Lucas, I'm very grateful because he helped me a lot in my work and travelling!
I recommend it if you want to learn to communicate more naturally and if you want to learn from scratch. Conversation training was what helped me the most. Thank you very much Lucas!
