About Frank

My name is Anthony Ruiz. I was born and raised in Colorado, USA but as soon as I could I began travelling. I've lived in Mexico for a number of years and I have done humanitarian services in Guatemala. Though my knowledge in Spanish great, my largest claim to legitimacy is my constant language learning. I have learned Italian and communicate at a B2 level and I have just begun my efforts to learn French. I am constantly studying to know how best to learn a language, and I know there is no quick way to do it. It take time, compassion, patience, and lots of effort. I am also a medical interpreter in Spanish, so I am also working on connecting English and Spanish together for seamless communication between the two.

About the lesson

I am a "milk before meat" kind of teacher. I prescribe to language acquisitionist Stephen Kaufmann's idea of learning a language in three stages: connection (3 months), comfort (6 months), and life long pursuit (forever!). I teach anyone who needs to travel for work, leisure or humanitarian services how to best communicate with those they associate. I will also teach anyone who needs help with Spanish for most levels of education. I will meet you where you are and give you a road map to success. Language learning is all about repetition so I will always follow up with you on your homework!
