About Freya
First of all, science GCSEs are hard! I struggled with mine but ended up doing really well and going on to study Biology and Chemistry A levels, and completed a Biology degree at Durham University in 2018. I am now studying Public Health MSc at Imperial College London, so am still very much in the science world, despite struggling in my teens. I want to help young students who are in the same position to develop a positive relationship with science and maybe one day they will be in my position! Equally, I am more than happy to tutor young people who just need some help with passing their GCSEs and have other passions and dont want to explore science any longer than they have to!
I get how difficult it can be to grasp the key concepts and therefore have developed lots of good methods of helping to engage students with these concepts, by breaking them down into analogies and basic concepts. I have been praised many times for explaining concepts that seemed previously alien in a way that students can understand and apply to the topic, with much more confidence.
I have tutored for 4 years so have had experience with varying levels of understanding, engagement and interest.
