About Kathleen
"Teens often walk into my studio looking for a way to make the guitar sound like a full band. Honestly, I find that beginners need the most patience as they navigate their first chords. My degree in folk music from Berea College taught me that the best lessons start with listening to the rhythm.
I have spent 13 years refining how to teach fingerstyle guitar and blues progressions. Improvisation and soloing become natural when you stop worrying about perfection. I help performance-focused students integrate electric technique into their playing style. Power chords provide the grit, while reading tabs gives you the map to start jamming on your own."

"Struggling to play your favorite track often comes down to overly complex arrangements that miss the groove. I simplify any song request into a version you can actually play.
We start by fixing your tuning and maintenance habits to keep your instrument in shape. Acoustic technique is the backbone of everything we cover in these sessions. Beginners find that focusing on the beat rather than just the tab helps them keep time. Teens looking to perform learn how to command the stage with their sound.
I enjoy watching students realize they can play what they hear in their heads. Performance-focused learners will see how these building blocks create a complete musical picture. Your ability to express yourself will expand with each chord change. We work toward your specific goals for the guitar."
