About Kerryanne

I have danced for 20+ years. I began in ballet and tap, then moved on to jazz and hip hop in my high school years. I was put in a leadership position on my dance team and asked to choreograph a jazz piece for the team. In college, I danced for my university's hip hop dance team and also taught ballet, jazz, and hip hop in a local studio to children ages 3-10. After college, I got more into social dancing and street styles. This was when I started participating in salsa and bachata socials. I have experience dancing multiple styles of salsa and bachata, but I specialize in Colombian salsa shines (without a partner) and traditional bachata shines (without a partner). I trained in salsa caleña in the city of Cali Colombia and traditional bachata in the Dominican Republic. I also got more into freestyling and street styles. I performed with renowned group Femme Fatale in the styles of popping, walking, and animation/tutting. I also recently taught afrobeats choreography to adult students at Salt Dance Studios near my home, along with hip hop, traditional bachata, and salsa caleña.

About the lesson

I am all about YOU as the student! Just as stated in the title, it doesn't matter if you have some experience dancing, or if you are brand spanking new to dance. I will cater to your needs specifically and on what you want for yourself. If you want a class focused on grooves and rhythm, we will focus on that. If you want a more technical class, or to learn the basics of a specific style such as popping, locking, hip hop, afrobeats, salsa or bachata, I am able to provide that as well. Let's have a quick stretch, and get to it!!

Perfect! Kerryanne is a wonderful dancer, but more importantly she's a wonderful teacher.
She's been nothing but patient and supportive with me. I started out knowing less than nothing about dance, and now I'm making plans to go to a nightclub with friends.
