About Marie

I am a native French speaker from France, now based in South Surrey, BC. Before offering French tutoring, I spent more than ten years in recruitment and executive search, assessing professionals, understanding their strengths and gaps, and helping them prepare for important career steps. I bring that same structured and attentive approach to French tutoring.

I hold two Master’s degrees from France and have always had a strong connection to language, culture, and communication. As a mother of a child who had to adapt to a new language and school system, I also understand how much confidence, patience, and consistency matter when learning.

My style is calm, precise, and supportive. I care about good French, but also about making students feel secure enough to speak, make mistakes, and progress. I work best with motivated students and families who value structure, regularity, and thoughtful guidance.

About the lesson

I am a native French speaker based in Surrey, BC, offering structured and personalized French tutoring for children, teenagers, and adults. My approach is calm, clear, and tailored to each student’s real needs. I usually begin by assessing the student’s level in speaking, listening, reading, and writing, then I identify the main gaps and build lessons around clear priorities.

A typical lesson includes a short warm-up conversation, targeted work on grammar, vocabulary, or pronunciation, and practical speaking or writing exercises. For younger students, especially those in French Immersion, I can support reading, writing, oral confidence, homework, and school-related topics. For adults, lessons can focus on conversation, professional French, exam preparation, interviews, or improving fluency for a specific goal.

What sets me apart is my background in recruitment and assessment. I spent more than ten years evaluating people’s strengths, gaps, and communication skills, and I now bring that same precision to French tutoring. I do not offer generic lessons: I observe carefully, give honest feedback, and help each student progress with structure, consistency, and confidence.
