About Amaury
Passionate about music since the age of 6, my favorite instrument is the drums. Currently, I am a first year jazz drum student, in the Cursus Pro, at the American School of Modern Music, in Paris.
I want to share my passion with my students. I love interaction, I love to see my students progress and I put a lot of attention and effort into it.
My background ... I played in a band of a fusion of rock and classical experimental music, with whom I made my first studio recordings. I spent two years doing daily jam sessions in the music association of my university, where I met a guitarist with whom we formed a metal band called Aphoria. We learned some Nevermore songs like 'Born' and 'The river dragon has come'. During the lockdowns, I composed computer drum tracks (via MIDI keyboard with Superior Drummer 3) for the modern jazz band, Genès Ogheard available on Spotify. I was featured on two of his albums which are 'Romance Recipe' and 'Immanence'.
My influences ... At the very beginning, I started by learning rock and metal. Then I was influenced by gospel drummers such as Tony Royster Jr, Ronald Bruner Jr (whom I highly recommend you to listen to) and many others. This brought me closer to the rhythms of funk. More recently, I've become interested in jazz masters such as Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier and many others.

I teach all levels (from beginner to advanced).
The student will sit behind the drum set and I will make sure that they have good posture, stick position and techniques.
I assume that each student is different and has a unique way of learning the instrument, whether it be by ear, visually, or a combination of both or other techniques.
I am also open to any type of learning, whether it is for pieces or the development of a new technique. However, I usually combine the two for those who are just starting out, because it is important to develop a solid foundation before venturing into more complicated things.
I like to decode the groove in the different musical genres I explore and share it with my students.

Details
If you would like to play on an acoustic drum set, but don't have one, I can give you the lesson at the HF Studio which you will have to rent at your own expense. You will also have to pay me for the hour of the lesson, but I will come the studio for free. In this case, I can give you my student discount at HF Studio.
