Hi! My name is Esha, and I am studying computer science at UC Berkeley. As a math tutor, I prioritize understanding over rote memorization. As a math tutor, I prioritize understanding over rote memorization. I aim to teach my students the underlying concepts and principles behind the math problems they are working on, so they can apply these principles to any problem they encounter. I use a combination of visual aids, interactive examples, and targeted practice problems to help students understand these concepts.
Here's an example of a typical lesson plan for one of my tutoring sessions:
-Review the student's homework or previous exam to identify areas of difficulty
-Introduce the concept with an interactive example, such as a demonstration or simulation
-Provide a few practice problems for the student to complete on their own
-Review the practice problems together and provide feedback and corrections
-Assign additional practice problems for the student to work on before the next session
What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong background in computer science. I can show students how mathematical concepts relate to computer science and other fields, which can help them gain a deeper understanding of the material. Additionally, I can teach students how to use computational tools and software to solve math problems more efficiently.
My tutoring services are ideal for students in the middle to high school level. I can help students with specific topics such as arithmetic, geometry, calculus, linear algebra, discrete math, and probability theory. However, I am also happy to work with students who simply want to improve their overall math skills or prepare for exams. Additionally, I can tutor students looking to prepare for college entrance exams and college preparation in general.
