Hello, I am a sixth form student currently, on my GCSEs I received 2 As for English literature and English language and was 1 mark off an A* for both.

As I mentioned, I received 2 As at GCSE and very nearly 2 A*. However, I used to struggle heavily with English and started year 11 mocks with only passing English language at a grade 4, and then turned it around to an A, so I really understand the struggle of underperforming students and know truly how to reach them in ways school teachers may not.

I can teach anything the student is struggling on, I have lots of old GCSE resources, such as poetry anthologies, notes and structures that I could use to teach. I would say one of my best areas in English would be essay writing, as it was one of the areas I used to struggle on, so I spent a lot of time working on it.
