About Stella

I am a Senior at the University of Central Florida working towards receiving my Bachelor of Communications degree in summer 2025. I have always struggled in math, but I always thrive in writing. In my Junior year at UCF I was enrolled in Research Methods and Public Campaigns, two courses where I wrote two 15-page papers that confirmed my interest in writing and teaching. As a kid, I was very imaginative, so I enjoyed writing stories and listening to music for inspiration. I was also inspired to teach English abroad in Spain next fall 2025 semester. I did community service monthly at a local elementary school in Bradenton, Florida, as well as shadowing a teacher during an early childhood education course in high school. Those experiences, I saw firsthand the impact of education on young learners and the importance of giving back to the community, strengthened my appreciation for effective communication in the classroom, and ultimately influenced my decision to pursue a degree in Communications. I moved to Orlando after, and have been ever since. In addition to completing my degree, I am currently enrolled in a Spanish course through the University of California, Davis, and am earning my TESOL Professional Certificate through Arizona State University.

About the lesson

I believe that education should have structure but should be fun, also. We will have a quick agenda to go through at the beginning of the lesson confirming everything we will work on, and then fly through it together. We can work on: - Essays (Middle School-High School) - English lessons as a second language (for Spanish & French speakers) - Reading, spelling, grammar, and writing (All Ages-Grades). I look forward to getting to know my students and utilizing their likes and interests in the learning as well. My tutors would get frustrated with me for not understanding their "ways" of teaching, but what they failed to recognize is that everyone learns at a different pace, style, and the same goes for communication as well. We will have great success working together, and will become true experts in topics we hope to learn a little more about.
