About Semen
I am new to maths as well - still studying in the university. But I want to share my mathematical knowledge because I am extremely passionate about maths. The world of maths beyond the curriculum is breathtaking (however, can also, of course, help with standard A level stuff). I want to show that maths can be not just mundane, but rather an interesting hobby.

When explaining a topic, I tend to not brush on the surface, like the UK school program tends to do, but rather go in-depth about why something exists and how exactly does it work. In my opinion, understanding the reason behind the process is a lot more effective for learning than just trying to blindly remember formulas.
Depending on the student’s needs I can either focus on actually helping with the ability to do basic questions by strengthening core knowledge or for more advanced learning can have more of a discussion philosophical format in order for younger students to be able to understand very complex concepts without being restricted by not yet learned chunks of mathematics. Also can have a flexible format of teaching, where a student wants to learn a specific area of mathematics.
Out of the things I unfortunately am not confident in teaching are Statistics, Further Statistics, Decision mathematics, Further mechanics 2. Everything else I hope I can help with.
Hope to see you or your kid on the lesson with me either in person or online. For online lessons I can use a board, so the student can write and see my writing.
