About Olesia

Currently, I am in the USA, where I work as a Ukrainian language teacher for second-grade students. I am also open to continuing my tutoring activities. I believe there are many Ukrainian children living abroad who want to preserve their Ukrainian language. Some people left Ukraine a long time ago and would like to maintain their language skills at a basic level in order to teach their children and stay connected with their families. I also welcome foreigners who are interested in learning more about Ukrainian language and culture.

About the lesson

A little about me: my entire life has been closely connected with children. Since childhood, I played with neighborhood kids, told them stories, and taught them the alphabet. I often went to work with my mother (she is a kindergarten teacher), where I helped children explore the world, learn new letters, and practice reading. At school, I assisted younger students with their homework and explained topics they found difficult to understand. After finishing 9th grade, I enrolled in a Pedagogical College, where I continued helping classmates and friends’ children understand new material. During my second year, I began my teaching practice at a school, which marked the start of my private tutoring journey. At first, I helped friends’ children with their homework, and later parents started finding me through word of mouth. I prepared children for school and supported students in grades 1–5 with new material. Later, I became a Ukrainian language tutor for students in grades 5–11. From the very first steps in learning Ukrainian, we progressed to preparing students for final assessments and state exams. At the same time, I worked at a college, teaching Ukrainian language and literature, as well as world literature.
