About Amelie
I am still very much immersed in the world of education myself, as second year University student, and I have always had a real enjoyment for English as a subject. To achieve the grades that I have at GCSE and A Level, it has taken a huge amount of trial and error and I have gathered a lot of knowledge from the exam experience. Unfortunately, at GCSE and A Level there is not much subjectivity as to what is right and wrong in English so learning the necessary method to gain high marks is difficult, but extremely satisfying once achieved. I would love to help anyone struggling with these exams and I'm also happy teaching younger students who want to improve their English at primary level!

Lesson content will vary significantly dependent on the age and requirements of each student - plus, English is a subject of many areas (literature, poetry, SPAG, comprehension etc). In my experience of teaching children aged 5 to 10, lessons would prioritise reading, SPAG and comprehension. However, GCSE and A Level sessions would be specific to the individual; for big exams, lessons can include general content and analysis but also have a greater focus on exam technique and revision methods. Because of this, lesson length will vary - a standard lesson being an hour, but am happy to extend to two for those who feel it would benefit.
