About Eleanor
Hello! My name is Eleanor and I am a First Class Mathematics graduate from the University of Edinburgh. I also recently graduated from UCL with an MSc in Statistics, in which I achieved a Distinction. Throughout my mathematical education, I was lucky enough to have some fantastic teachers, and I learned that having a teacher who is passionate about maths, encouraging and makes maths fun makes all the difference. This is an ethos I seek to apply to my own lessons. My aim as a tutor is to improve your grade, build your confidence and to help to relieve anxiety. Each lesson is tailored to the individual student's needs, working at their speed on the topics they want to focus on. During our first session together, we will go through your syllabus and identify areas which you might be struggling with, before devising a plan of action for tackling this. Lessons will involve a detailed explanation of the theory surrounding the chosen topic before moving on to hands-on example questions. Any maths student or teacher will tell you that practice makes perfect, so I will also set homework for students to ensure they are able to apply and understand the methods they've learned on their own.
