About Sam
I am traditionally licensed so I have a full 4 year degree in Mathematics and a Secondary endorsement as well as having passed the national Licensing text PRAXIS (Colorado being one of the hardest pass rates). I taught High School Math for 4 years at an alternative school serving both struggling and highly advanced students. I understand how to meet students where they are and help them succeed as they move through more difficult content. I am super high energy and LOVE math and problem solving with my students. I enjoy bringing art and creativity into Math and believe hands on is the best approach!

I have focused mostly on Geometry, trigonometry and Algebra 1. I like to begin by finding gaps in understanding and to fill those so the student can confidently tackle future concepts. Often, kids are asked to learn new skills without the proper foundation in the basics. I can teach a lesson on a specific topic or help a d student with an assignment or test to find errors and clear up misunderstandings.
