Hi! My name is Haymi and I am a first-year student at Drexel University. I’m from San Diego, California and ethnically Ethiopian. I am super excited to start tutoring and helping kids better their education. In my free time, I love to read, play squash, go to beaches, and try new cafes!

I use a student-centered, concept-first approach that focuses on understanding rather than memorization. I break down complex topics step by step, adapt lessons to each student’s pace, and encourage active participation so students can confidently apply what they learn. Typical lessons include a quick goal check-in, focused concept review, guided practice, independent problem-solving, and a short recap with next steps. What sets me apart is my ability to make difficult material clear, approachable, and manageable, while also teaching effective study and test strategies. I tutor middle school, high school, and early college students, including AP and introductory college courses, helping both struggling and high-achieving students build confidence, improve grades, and master core concepts.
