• How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I am a mother to an Autistic daughter which is the core reason for me to have become a special needs educator.

• What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?

  My daughter with Autism and my other students who are differently abled are the main motivation for me choosing this special education area.

• How does your work help society?

  I am very content that for the last 14 years, I could bring a positive impact on so many kids who are differently abled.

• If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My daughter and other special kids who I have so far come across in my life are my "Role Models".

• Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I love travelling and learning new things.

• Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  Never in my life had I thought that I would pursue a career in special needs until my daughter was diagnosed with Autism. Being a mother, I wanted to do something for my daughter and I turned myself into a special education field. Now I am very content that the knowledge I have, is used for the benefits of not only my daughter but to various other special children.
