I have tutored chemistry for 1 year to 1 junior high school student. I also studied biopharmaceutical sciences for 2 years at Leiden University. This also allows me to help with Mathematics A and Physics (secondary school, lower secondary school).

I think it is important to let the student think for himself and to help them on the right track with giving hints and how the relevant material can best be applied. I also think it is important to always look back and ask what the student still knows about the previous lesson / chapter that was discussed. As a result, the student thinks about the different material at multiple times so that it is better applied and remembered.
