About Rachel
I discovered Art History through an online course in high school and was instantly smitten. Never before had I seen the paintings of Caravaggio, the Palace of Versailles’ “Hall of Mirrors,” or Mark Rothko’s colorfield canvases. I was entranced by the way Art and history have always been deeply intertwined, and obtained a BFA in Art History at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), focusing on modern and contemporary Art, as well as the history, theory, and practice of photography. I worked as an Art History peer tutor at SCAD and now incorporate my knowledge of Art History into the Beginning Photography course that I teach at the Univeristy or South Florida where I am an MFA candidate.
