About Nitu

I am a PGCERT and UGC qualified lecturer with 15+ years of teaching experience. I have a B.Com. and 3 master degrees (M.Com, M.B.A and M.Sc in Finance. I am also a registered examiner with CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) and am DBS cleared.
I am a dedicated, and an adaptable professional who enjoys the challenge of teaching and makes every effort to create a positive learning environment for the students. I love everything about being a teacher with a student or in a classroom with a group of students and motivate them to learn something new every day to accomplish the goals of having higher education in UK.
I have not had a student fail their modules after being tutored by me. Students often come to me worried about their exams or essays, however after one lesson they understand difficult concepts due to my teaching methods and are much more confident in the subject area.

About the lesson

My tutoring approach is student centred and I feel the tutor should always be flexible to the student, never adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. I love to get to know my students as individuals, and plan my lessons around their needs accordingly, identifying their strengths and weaknesses to really maximise their learning.
My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. However my teaching philosophy is based on encouraging students to think for themselves, using real-world examples wherever possible. I start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I don’t lecture to students or ask them to memorise things. Nor do I do the students’ homework for them!
I concentrate on understanding course content and exam preparation. As I have experience in setting exam papers and marking exams, I teach students exactly how to structure their answers. I usually focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. I also give a lot of emphasis to some of the less obvious but vital skills such as essay structure and technique, logical thought, and the effective use of numbers and graphs.
