About Amber

I am an elementary educator with over 11 years of classroom experience across multiple grade levels and learner needs. My teaching background includes 2nd grade all content for 2 years, 3rd grade all content for 2 years, 4th grade all content for 6 years with gifted learners, and 5th grade English Language Arts for 1 year, giving me a strong foundation in core academics, differentiation, and student-centered instruction.

I am LETRS trained (Units 1-4), equipping me with deep knowledge of the science of reading, structured literacy, decoding, and comprehension strategies. I also hold an ESL Certification in North Carolina, allowing me to support multilingual learners and diverse learning profiles. My experience, training, and data-driven approach ensure students receive high-quality, evidence-based instruction that builds confidence and measurable growth.

About the lesson

As a certified K–6 educator and experienced reading tutor, I help children become confident, capable readers who truly understand what they read—not just sound out words. My approach is supportive, engaging, and tailored to each child’s unique learning style, ensuring growth and real results.

I specialize in reading comprehension, decoding skills, and test-taking strategies, helping students strengthen their ability to break down words, understand complex texts, and approach assessments with confidence. Whether your child is struggling with foundational reading skills or needs support improving fluency and comprehension, I use proven, research-based strategies to close gaps and build lasting skills.
