About Charmyse
Pacing is everything when you are struggling to get a chord shape to ring out clearly. I treat every technical hurdle as a chance to refine your strumming patterns or music theory knowledge.
Because I include a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum, you will not have to guess what to do between our meetings. It is basically like having a personal coach in your pocket during the week.
We will work on your reading tabs or reading sheet music in a way that feels like a natural conversation. If something feels too difficult, we just pull back and break the rhythm down to its simplest form. This is how we move forward.

A self-taught musician often knows more about the instrument than someone who purely follows traditional sheet music. My journey involves 13 years on the chanson circuit, which taught me that rhythm guitar and power chords matter more than dry theory. I work with working professionals, teens, and adults who need to get their hands moving on the strings.
My degree is in the school of hard knocks, having gigged the Montreal folk scene for 13 years. We will look at fingerpicking, acoustic technique, and improvisation while maintaining solid tuning and maintenance habits. I plan to keep our sessions light and focused on the sounds you actually want to hear.
