About Nancy
My name is Nancy and I'm a professional chess player (2156 USCF) and an experienced chess coach. I have been playing since elementary school and competed in many national tournaments. I began teaching at 16, working with kids of different ages and skill levels. My main goal is to teach people to play chess and popularize the idea that chess will help you improve key skills for your career and life.

My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s individual needs. In our initial sessions, I will assess your ambitions and chess goals to create a personalized plan for your improvement.
I focus on identifying both your strengths and weaknesses, helping you enhance your skills effectively. My methodology covers all key aspects of chess, including:
Calculation techniques – Improving your ability to accurately analyze positions.
Middlegame strategy – Developing a deeper understanding of positional play and tactical awareness.
Theoretical endgames – Mastering essential endgame principles to convert advantages.
Opening preparation – Building a solid repertoire suited to your playing style.
My ultimate goal is to enrich your understanding of chess and refine your thinking process. I emphasize areas of the game that are harder to study independently and guide you on how to improve on your own. Together, we will work towards achieving your chess aspirations efficiently and effectively.
