About Cerise
Absolute beginners often think they need a perfect voice to start. I started by listening to older players in the Ozarks and mimicking what I heard. My 12 years of experience covers 443 students who have learned to control their own range. I focus on diction, phrasing, and rhythm to help you find your footing.
We address belting technique and sight singing through a tradition that values the ear. I want you to feel the music as it comes out.

Stage fear stops many people from singing in public. I admit that I still feel nervous before stepping on a stage. My lessons focus on managing that fear through consistent performance preparation.
We practice vocal range extension and articulation so your words cut through the air. My teaching style is rooted in 12 years of experience within the bluegrass tradition. I enjoy seeing beginners find their own sound.
