About Cynthia
The crisp sound of a correctly pronounced French vowel is the first sign that you are truly connecting with the language. We spend our time together working through idioms, expressions, and listening practice to ensure your French is as authentic as possible.
I provide a dedicated homework module with feedback after every class to keep you on the right track between meetings. This structure helps kids and adults alike retain what they learn. My lessons are designed to be practical. Consistency is everything.
We will cover conversational fluency in a way that feels like a natural chat over coffee. You will appreciate the detailed notes I provide for every session. I want you to feel comfortable experimenting with the language during our time together.

Speaking French has been a constant thread throughout my life as an MA Applied Linguistics graduate. My native Spanish background gives me a unique perspective on Romance languages that I share with the 191 students I have taught over the years. I focus on practical skills like accent and intonation, everyday phrases for beginners, and complex verb conjugation.
It is rewarding to see hobbyists and travelers gain the confidence to use these expressions in real-life situations. I find it enjoyable to simplify the French writing system and cultural nuances for those who are just starting out. There is something truly special about helping someone find their voice in a new language.
