About Dwight
During this time I have performed a wide variety of genres of music on the guitar. I feel comfortable with potential students that have never played guitar to ones that are at an intermediate level on the instrument. In addition, I also play and perform on the mandolin and feel comfortable teaching this instrument. I continue to perform weekly at Plymouth UCC church here in Des Moines. I am officially retired from my regular career in the medical field, so I have a flexible schedule.

In regard to my teaching method, I usually use a variety of methods. First of all, I feel that it is very important to meet the student where they current functioning their development as a guitar player. As stated, I use a variety of written materials along with recordings of all kinds.
