About Brittany
I have experience tutoring for the 11+ test undertaken by students applying for grammar schools. I also have experience in tutoring maths and the sciences at GCSE level. I love seeing students progress and begin to enjoy their subjects and am very enthusiastic. I know that learning can be very difficult, so am patient but persistent with my students. I am always friendly and open to questions at any time.

At A Level I achieved 3A grades in maths, chemistry and biology, at GCSE 8A*s and 4As, and am currently studying biochemistry at degree level at the University of Birmingham. As there is a certain level of maths required in both biology and chemistry, my knowledge of mathematics also allows me to help students with this side of the subject. I know that different methods of learning are more effective for different people, so like to vary my teaching. I think that repetition and practicing past paper questions are the most effective ways to learn and prepare for exams so will place lots of emphasis on this. My lessons will normally begin with a refresher set of questions to see how much they remember from the previous lesson. I will then explain the concept or theory the lesson is covering as simply as possible using diagrams, mindmaps, keywords and other methods. The lesson will then end with some questions as homework to complete for the next session, and I will mark these in my own time and return with feedback.
