Well don't have such methods but as I teach some 8th std students now basically i first start with the general idea of the topic and then tell the students some interesting facts related to so that they gain some intrest in it.
Then I go as per the textbook from which the students will be accepting most of the syllabus in exam then if you have to solve sums i take their practice
