About Davina
I have over 3 years and 500 tutoring hours. I love tutoring. My main domain is Sociology. I enjoy tutoring this subject as it has a special place in my heart, having achieved a first-class degree in it too, and I wish to convey this enthusiasm to my students. The main topics I cover for Sociology are: families and households, education, crime and deviance, general theories and research methods. I am also currently studying towards a Master's in Banking and Finance Msc.
Additionally, it really makes a difference when you create a safe space for students to express their ideas when they're unsure of certain things, as it allows for growth and progression. I love making a difference in students' success as they are able to achieve things they once thought they couldn't.

In preparation for a lesson, I review the notes provided about the student before choosing a simple subject to springboard and progress from. This not only builds initial confidence and recaps previous content but it also provides me with a better understanding as to what level the student is working at. I frequently use practice questions and work through one or two together to enable the student to fully grasp the method before allowing them to have a go alone. This also provides an important interaction as I attempt to evoke their thoughts on how they might answer the question. Overall, I provide a safe environment in which the student can voice when they are unsure of certain topics so that I can explain it in an alternate way to ensure they have a full understanding of the content.

Davina has been tutoring for years and she is so well equipped with creating a safe space for fun and open learning. She has 35 five ️star reviews from previous parents.
Davina is very organised and very dedicated to her work. She has previously consulted me on my lesson plans on another teaching platform and I have to say the lesson was very well received by the students. Her reliability and work ethics are invaluable.
