About Ansha
Between my education, working experience, and general passion for helping students succeed, I create a learning experience that fosters a passion to keep learning. Before students can absorb more information, they need to be open to learning it - if they are not engaged they will not retain the lessons.
I use personal experience and interests to connect to students and make learning something they can be excited about. It is all about retention of the fundamentals for the long term not just memorization of what needs to be learned for the short term.

For all students, I first contact the parents (or the student if they are older) and get a sense of what they are currently working on in school and what areas they need support in - whether I am tutoring them for support/study habits or if it is to get them caught up with their peers.
For younger students, a lesson plan will consist of a media component (educational video, game, craft, etc.) to keep them engaged while learning along with whatever school work they need to complete. If there is no work that needs to be completed, I find or create worksheets that coincide with their current school work or area of need.
For older students, lessons are primarily centered around their school work as the workload increases in middle and high school. Since I strongly believe in students having agency over their leaning, at the end of the sessions I always ask what they think they need help in and what they would like to focus on for the next session.
