About Alon
I started playing chess at the age of six and have won over 30 medals as a competitor. Although I stopped competing, I still practice and play as a hobby. Currently, my online rating is 1700. Additionally, I have seven years of teaching experience in competitive windsurfing. The first lesson will be a match against me—if I lose, I won’t charge for the lesson and will simply be happy to play against a strong opponent.

I have a lot of passion and can provide the best foundation in chess. My approach includes practicing different openings in each lesson, solving problems, learning potential winning strategies, playing against me, and analyzing the game at the end. I emphasize creativity, competitiveness, and strategic homework to help you progress independently. I can commute up to 20 minutes from downtown Monterey for one-on-one lessons.
