About Ralph
I'm a fully fluent, very experienced French teacher with 15 years experience teaching French at Junior Cert, Leaving Cert and university level. I hold the DALF C2 qualification (the highest official French language qualification awarded by the French Ministry of Education) and have studied, lived and worked in France and other Francophone countries.
I teach Medical French at the University of Galway as well as on a yearly course run by the Anglo-French Medical Society at the Université Catholique de Lille. I also hold a Professional Diploma in Medical French. I have privately tutored students studying French at university in Ireland and have successfully helped them pass their final year degree exams, in addition to helping many students obtain H1s in Leaving Cert French.

I provide French grinds to Junior Cert, Leaving Cert and students studying French at degree level in Ireland. As a tutor, I'm very adaptable, patient and encouraging. I'm particularly skilled in improving students' speaking skills, explaining grammar simply and helping students feel more confident with the language.
I really enjoy teaching French generally to adults of all ages and can provide personalized courses focusing on: speaking, literature, understanding informal French and professional French. French has been a huge part of my life since I was a child and I love sharing this with others.
I also have extensive experience teaching medical French for healthcare professionals and students wishing to work or study in French-speaking countries. Furthermore, I am very skilled in accent reduction.
Being passionate about languages generally, I have participated and presented at multiple polyglot conferences, where I have continued to gain new skills in language learning and teaching.
I have a Master of Public Health in Global Health from Harvard University. I studied Medicine in Trinity College Dublin and at the Université de Nantes in France.
