• When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

  Prior to leaving my Canadian home for a year-long teaching & travelling adventure to China in 1995, I volunteered teaching ESL & discovered I really enjoyed it. This pre-China teaching experience developed my interest in teaching and motivated me to be a better teacher.

• What makes you passionate about your subject?

  Helping students realize a sense of pride in their work motivates me to bring passion to my class.

• What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

  When we're learning something new, there's so many things going on in our brain at once. Being able to simultaneously provide focus, challenge, motivation and safety - all at the same time - requires great awareness & management from a "Superprof"!

• Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  Along the road, I think we've all have had amazing teachers that have encouraged us in amazing ways. I've a few brilliant teachers that I like to take what I've appreciated about their teaching styles & incorporate into my own teaching "toolbox".

• What are your keys to success?

  For me, success in learning requires being consistent, and using humour to lessen the stress of academic challenge (at least I hope I'm humourous..)
