About Calistus

I am a Cybersecurity and Network Security Instructor with strong hands-on experience in enterprise networking, infrastructure security, Azure Cloud Security, and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). I specialise in teaching practical, real-world skills across network security, cloud security, SIEM monitoring, ISO 27001, and enterprise infrastructure using structured lab environments.

I am currently pursuing an MSc in Cybersecurity at the University of Bradford, further developing my knowledge of cybersecurity principles, information security governance, risk management, security frameworks, and emerging security technologies.

My teaching approach is highly practical and lab-driven. I guide students through real-world network, cloud, and information security scenarios, including routing and switching, MPLS and VRFs, firewalls, VPNs, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure security configurations, identity and access management, and ISMS implementation based on ISO/IEC 27001. My goal is to ensure learners not only understand concepts but can confidently apply them in real IT and cybersecurity roles.

I work with beginners, IT support professionals, networking enthusiasts, and career switchers who want clear explanations, step-by-step guidance, and hands-on experience. Whether you are starting in IT, strengthening your networking foundation, exploring Azure Cloud Security, or learning how to implement and manage an ISMS, my sessions are structured to build confidence, technical depth, and job-ready skills.

I focus on clarity, industry relevance, and practical learning that aligns with real enterprise and service-provider environments. My aim is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, helping students develop the skills and confidence needed to progress in the IT and cybersecurity industry.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, structured, and focused on developing real-world IT, networking, cloud security, and cybersecurity skills. Each session combines clear explanations with hands-on labs that reflect enterprise and service-provider environments.

Students will learn through guided practice in areas such as IT support fundamentals, network configuration and troubleshooting, routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, Azure Cloud Security, Microsoft Entra ID, identity and access management, SIEM monitoring, and enterprise network security. I also cover Information Security Management Systems (ISMS), including ISO/IEC 27001, information security governance, risk assessment, security controls, and compliance.

Lessons are designed to help learners understand not just what to do, but why systems behave the way they do and how to apply security principles in real-world environments.

I adapt each lesson to the student's level and career goals, whether you are a beginner entering IT, building a solid networking foundation, exploring Microsoft Azure security, or learning how to implement and manage an ISMS. Sessions are interactive, lab-driven, and focused on building confidence and job-ready skills.

By the end of each lesson, students will have practical knowledge and experience they can apply directly in real IT, networking, cloud security, and cybersecurity environments.
