About Karissa
I started gymnastics and dance at age two and competed in gymnastics (USAG) starting from age 7-17. I started coaching at my own gym when I was 15 and have coached at many gyms around the area over the past 12 years. I spent my summers growing up being coached by Olympians such as Justin Spring and Blaine Willson and was trained to coach by three time Russian Olympic gold medalist Maria Filatova. I have a 20 by 6 foot air track that I can bring to lessons. During these lessons I am happy to work on anything your child needs. I typically focus on improving tumbling, dance and details in routines, and learning new skills.

My teaching method is to use positivity and encouragement to inspire the next generation of gymnasts. I focus on building confidence and mental strength while teaching new skills. I plan my lessons on an individualized basis to meet the needs of every gymnast. I believe in having high expectations for my students while instilling a love for the sport and having fun!
