About Edward
Ever since I was a child, I have always loved two things: Music, and taking things apart. My parents' were very supportive of one of those endeavors, and very annoyed with the other. I have always felt the need to understand how things work and fit together, so it came as no surprise that when I started to get into guitar, I began to analyze it. I wasn't content with just copying scales and chord shapes. I needed to know WHY those shapes worked together. It was that relentless curiosity that fueled my deep dive into music theory, and after years of practice and studying, I am able to use those skills to help students demystify music!

English
Being a fully self-taught guitarist, I know exactly how daunting it feels to be an absolute beginner with no idea where to start. Music can seem like a foreign language at first, and that's because it kind of is! Both music and language have structures to them, but when we begin to learn our first language, we don't start by studying grammar, spelling, or punctuation. We are simply exposed to the language and eventually begin to find patterns. That is my approach to teaching: Helping students to recognize the patterns in music that form the foundation of music and music theory. Once a student has the fundamentals of music down, then we can begin tackling the intermediate guitar playing hurdles: The dreaded "plateaus" that many guitarists never progress past. With my experiences, I am confident I am able to help any beginner or intermediate guitarist get to the next level of playing, all while preserving the most important aspect of learning an instrument: Genuine passion for music.

Perfect! Eddie quickly understood the level at which I’m at, and was able to explain concepts that were new to me, yet essential for me to continue progressing, all in the very first lesson!
