About George
Music is a powerful form of expression, and teaching guitar allows me to help students find their own voice. With Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music, I combine technical training with creative guidance to foster both skill and artistry. I start with fundamental techniques, including posture, finger placement, chord transitions, rhythm, strumming, and tone, progressing to improvisation, composition, and expressive phrasing. Music theory is taught in a practical, song-based approach that makes learning meaningful. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s pace, goals, and interests, creating an encouraging and inspiring environment. I emphasise creativity, self-expression, and performance confidence alongside technical mastery. Lessons include ear training, sight-reading, and practical exercises to develop musical intuition. I introduce students to diverse genres such as classical, jazz, rock, blues, and pop to expand musical understanding. My teaching balances structure, discipline, and artistic freedom. I provide feedback, personalised practice routines, and strategies to overcome challenges while keeping lessons enjoyable. Students are encouraged to experiment, compose, and interpret music in their own style. Milestones are celebrated to build motivation and self-confidence. Over time, learners evolve into expressive, confident musicians with their own artistic identity. Teaching guitar is not just about playing notes—it’s about storytelling, emotion, and personal growth. My goal is to cultivate musicians who play with both skill and heart.
