About Seth

I am a guitar tutor with 7 years of experience and a B.Mus in Classical Guitar along with an M.Mus in Contemporary Composition. I specialize in guiding students toward technical skill, creative expression, and performance readiness. My lessons cover all levels, from beginners learning chords and rhythm to advanced students preparing for performance or composition. I use structured exercises, repertoire practice, improvisation, and performance coaching to foster skill, creativity, and confidence. Lessons are personalized to each learner. Beginners focus on chord shapes, basic melodies, and strumming. Intermediate learners refine technique, music theory application, and improvisation. Advanced learners work on solo performance, composition, and stylistic versatility. Feedback is ongoing, constructive, and supportive. Lessons balance technical mastery with artistic exploration, encouraging independent musical growth. Outside teaching, I perform, compose, and explore diverse guitar styles. I guide students through recitals, community performances, and creative projects. Teaching guitar allows me to watch learners develop skill, creativity, and confidence. My mission is to help students enjoy music, develop expressive capabilities, and achieve long-term growth as musicians.

Guitar lessons thrive when technique meets artistic expression. I guide students through chord progressions, scales, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, solo phrasing, and performance confidence. Beginners focus on chord shapes, strumming patterns, and simple melodies while learning timing and rhythm. Intermediate learners develop dexterity, scale fluency, stylistic interpretation, and improvisational skills. Advanced learners explore soloing, composition, tone shaping, and live performance preparation. Each lesson integrates hands-on practice, creative exercises, and real-time feedback, encouraging independence and musical exploration. I emphasize discovering a personal musical voice, balancing disciplined technique with freedom of expression, ensuring learners gain both skill and confidence. Lessons combine fun, creativity, and challenge to promote consistent progress and engagement.

Lesson plans are adapted to each student’s skill level and goals. Beginners focus on basic techniques, chord transitions, and simple songs. Intermediate learners refine fingerstyle, expressive phrasing, and music theory integration. Advanced learners explore solo performance, advanced composition, and stylistic versatility. Exercises include interactive practice, creative improvisation, and problem-solving strategies to overcome technical obstacles. Constructive feedback reinforces learning and helps students gain confidence. Lessons nurture technical mastery, stylistic understanding, and creative expression, supporting a lifelong musical journey. Students gradually develop independence, fluency, and expressive musicality.

Over time, learners gain technical precision, creative improvisation, and confidence in both solo and ensemble contexts. Lessons cultivate musical memory, harmonic understanding, rhythmic awareness, and stylistic versatility. Students achieve expressive and technical competence while enjoying the process of learning and performing. I aim to nurture versatile guitarists who combine skill, artistry, and passion, supporting long-term musical growth, creativity, and performance confidence.
