About Lina
I have 11 years of experience teaching guitar to a diverse range of students, from beginners discovering their first chords to advanced players refining their personal style. I hold a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance and Contemporary Styles, which provided me with both advanced technical training and extensive exposure to varied musical genres. This education allows me to teach with versatility, incorporating classical, jazz, rock, and contemporary techniques in ways that suit each learner’s interests and goals.
My teaching philosophy is rooted in encouragement, adaptability, and fostering creativity. I believe that each student has a unique musical voice, and I work closely to help them express it fully while building strong technical foundations. Lessons focus on practical application, gradual skill development, and the joy of making music, ensuring that learning is both effective and inspiring.
Beyond teaching, I actively perform, compose, and collaborate with other musicians, which keeps my lessons fresh and grounded in real-world musical experience. My guitar lessons are designed to help learners develop comprehensive technical skills, musical creativity, and expressive performance confidence. I focus on foundational and advanced techniques, including fingerstyle precision, strumming dynamics, chord transitions, improvisation, soloing, tone shaping, sight reading, and repertoire development. Lessons emphasize connecting technical execution with expressive intention, helping students understand how skill translates into artistic communication.
Lesson plans are customized for each learner’s level and goals. Beginners start with basic chord shapes, simple strumming patterns, tuning skills, and foundational reading. Intermediate learners progress to complex chord progressions, scales, melodic phrasing, improvisation exercises, and rhythmic intricacies. Advanced learners focus on advanced soloing techniques, tonal refinement, stylistic interpretation, performance strategies, and building a personal musical identity. Each lesson integrates structured exercises, guided practice, and hands-on performance opportunities to strengthen mastery and confidence.
Beyond technique, these lessons cultivate patience, discipline, creativity, and self-expression. Students gain the confidence to experiment musically, interpret pieces authentically, and perform with assurance.
