About Crary
I am trained as a U.S. lawyer, however, have given music lessons (mainly guitar) for over 20 years. I focus on reading music and practical music theory for people who would like to write their own music and be able to improvise with others.

My classes tend to be roughly half reading music and theory (including scales, key signatures, etc.) and half more hands-on learning of guitar techniques, popular songs, and things that are of interest to that particular student. Students learn to play songs, but also the way songs are constructed--and how to write their own or analyze others'.
