About Lauren
I hold a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Guitar and a Master of Music in Guitar Education. During my 13 years of teaching, I have worked with students of many ages and musical backgrounds. My fascination with guitar began through performing, composing, and studying different musical styles. Teaching allows me to share that passion while helping learners build meaningful connections with music. Seeing students succeed continues to inspire my work.
My teaching style focuses on clarity, encouragement, and adaptability. I believe effective instruction should reflect the individual needs and interests of each learner. Students receive practical guidance that helps them understand concepts deeply rather than simply memorizing techniques. Lessons are structured to promote steady progress while maintaining enjoyment. This creates a positive and productive learning environment.
Outside teaching, I enjoy arranging music, performing with local ensembles, and exploring new guitar techniques. These experiences help keep my teaching current and engaging. Watching students gain confidence and achieve personal goals is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession. I strive to create lessons that are motivating, supportive, and effective. My goal is to help learners develop skills that enrich their musical lives for years to come.

My guitar lessons are built around helping students become versatile and expressive musicians. Learners develop skills in rhythm playing, chord fluency, fretboard understanding, picking accuracy, tone control, and musical interpretation through engaging and practical exercises. I connect technical concepts to real musical examples so students understand how each skill contributes to performance and creativity. Students receive personalized guidance based on their interests and objectives. Some focus on solo techniques such as bending, vibrato, phrasing, and improvisation. Others work on accompaniment skills, songwriting, or performance preparation. Lessons include listening exercises, technical studies, rhythm development activities, and structured practice strategies. Learners who enjoy challenge receive advanced material, while those needing encouragement receive supportive guidance that builds confidence. This flexibility helps every student progress effectively.
