About Maya
My passion for guitar started through a fascination with melody, rhythm, and musical expression. This interest inspired me to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Music before earning a PhD in Contemporary Guitar Studies. During my 9 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students pursuing many different musical goals and styles.
I believe effective teaching requires patience, adaptability, and a strong understanding of how people learn. My teaching style focuses on helping students develop practical skills while building confidence in their musical abilities. I enjoy creating lessons that are both structured and motivating.
Outside teaching, I continue performing, composing, and exploring new musical ideas. These experiences help me bring fresh perspectives and practical knowledge into every lesson. Helping students discover confidence, creativity, and enjoyment through guitar remains one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career.

My guitar lessons focus on helping students build practical skills while developing a deeper understanding of music. We work on rhythm techniques, chord fluency, picking accuracy, strumming patterns, fretboard knowledge, and musical timing through engaging exercises and real-world applications. Lessons are structured to support both confidence and creativity.
As learners progress, we explore fingerstyle methods, improvisation, lead guitar concepts, tone development, ear training, songwriting foundations, and performance preparation. Every lesson is adapted to suit the student’s interests and goals, creating a personalized learning experience. Detailed guidance and feedback help learners continue improving with confidence.
I believe learning guitar should be inspiring, rewarding, and enjoyable. My goal is to help students become independent musicians who can continue growing beyond the classroom. Every lesson supports technical development, musical understanding, and creative exploration.
