About Colette
I am a guitar tutor with over 2 years of experience and a BM in Studio Music and Jazz (Guitar Principal), specializing in guitar for media composition. I teach Electric, Acoustic, Classical, and Bass Guitar to students interested in film and video game soundtracks.
My lessons focus on atmospheric textures, thematic development, and sound design. I show how to integrate guitar into digital audio workstations (DAWs) for a cinematic sound.
I take a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons for both youth and adult learners. We combine technique, creativity, and composition to develop expressive musical ideas. Students explore recording, layering, and performance for immersive soundscapes.
By the end of our sessions, learners gain confidence in bringing cinematic and gaming worlds to life with the guitar. Lessons are practical, creative, and inspiring. Together, we transform musical ideas into engaging, dynamic compositions.

My guitar teaching approach is all about developing expressive and confident lead playing. I focus on improvisation, soloing techniques, phrasing, and essential blues/rock skills like bends and vibrato. Lessons combine technical practice with creative exploration to help students find their unique voice.
We practice scales, modes, and patterns that form the foundation of strong solos. Exercises in phrasing, note choice, and dynamics help students craft musical and memorable solos. Improvisation encourages creativity and personal style.
I work with learners who want to explore jazz, rock, and blues in depth. Lessons include ear training, melodic development, and stylistic understanding. Students gain the confidence to create solos spontaneously.
Each session emphasizes skill, creativity, and self-expression. Feedback is constant to refine technique and musicality. Together, we unlock your lead playing potential and make improvisation feel natural.
