About Gabe

Hi, I’m Gabe Toth, founder of Gabe Toth Music Academy. I help guitar students become real players — not just people who memorize a few shapes and still feel lost. I have 30+ years of teaching experience, 86 five-star Google reviews, and a lifetime of real music experience as a teacher, performer, arranger, vocalist, pianist, guitarist, and music coach. My guitar lessons are practical, structured, and built around real progress. I teach acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar, chords, strumming, rhythm, timing, picking, ear training, simple music theory, songwriting basics, singing while playing, performance skills, and confidence. I work with beginners, returning players, and intermediate students who want to actually play songs, understand what they are doing, and improve in a clear, organized way. You do not need to be advanced to start. You just need a guitar, a goal, and the right teacher to help you move forward.

Every guitar lesson starts with one question: what do you actually want to play? Some students want acoustic songs, strumming, and clean chord changes. Some want electric guitar, riffs, rhythm guitar, lead playing, or blues/rock skills. Some want to sing while playing. Some just want to finally stop feeling confused when they pick up the guitar. I build the lesson around your goal and your current level. For beginners, we work on chords, strumming, rhythm, timing, picking, hand position, simple songs, and confidence. For intermediate students, we can work on barre chords, scales, lead playing, improvisation, songwriting, ear training, theory, performance skills, and stronger technique. I do not teach random exercises just to fill time. Everything connects to real songs, real playing, and real progress. By the end of each lesson, you will know what improved, what still needs work, and exactly what to practice next.
I do not offer free trial lessons because the first session is a real working lesson. In your first paid lesson, I evaluate your current playing, identify what is holding you back, and give you a clear plan for what to practice next. My goal is to make every lesson useful, focused, and worth your time from the start.

  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favorite instrument?

    1) I developed my first passions for music when I was in Kindergarten. I wouldn't pay attention to anything else but when it was time to gather around the piano and sing songs this was happy time.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

    2) I rarely have time to listen to music because I am usually teaching it or making it.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

    3) Ear training, however, it is my favorite.
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

    4) Any stringed instrument because of the many options to play the same thing in different positions.
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

    5) Persistence, Repetition, Patience
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

    6) John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Harry Nilsson. Icons who are no longer with us who left the world way too soon.
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

    7) Persistence, Repetition, and Patience :)
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

    8) Each lesson is tailored to students level, demeanor, and ability to retain information. Challenging yet at the same time fun. The ability to pin point where weaknesses are and provide the best most effective way or ways to improve.
