• Há quanto tempo você possui uma paixão pela música e pelo seu instrumento musical preferido?

  Das memórias mais presentes que tenho da minha infância é de ouvir o meu avô a tocar harmónica e a cantar canções do seu tempo. Relativamente à guitarra, no momento em que descobri que a minha escola disponibilizava aulas de guitarra, soube logo que queria aprender este instrumento. Poucos meses depois dei o meu primeiro concerto no palco da escola. Depois disso, segui para o conservatório e por aí a história continua.

  One of the most present memories I have of my childhood is listening to my grandfather playing the harmonica and singing songs from his time. Regarding the guitar, the moment I found out that my school offered guitar lessons, I knew right away that I wanted to learn this instrument. A few months later I gave my first concert on the school stage. After that, I went to the conservatory and the story continues from then on.

• Conte-nos sobre a aula mais difícil ou desafiante que você já deu!

  Falando honestamente, as aulas mais difíceis de dar acontecem quando não existe interesse por parte do aluno em aprender. Independentemente da entrega que se tenha enquanto professor, sempre procurando a melhor maneira de alcançar o aluno, a aula só realmente acontece se o aluno tiver consciência das suas motivações. Felizmente, todas as minhas experiências no Superprof incluíram alunos que realmente queriam aprender a tocar.

  Honestly speaking, the most difficult lessons to teach take place when there is no interest coming from the student in learning. Regardless of how you give yourself to the cause as a teacher, always looking for the best way to reach out to the student, the lessons can only really happen if the student is aware of his/her motivations. Fortunately, all my experiences at Superprof included students who really wanted to learn how to play.

• Qual, na sua opinião, é o instrumento/técnica vocal mais difícil de tocar/aprender e porquê?

  Cada instrumento tem a sua própria dificuldade, e com certeza que demora mais que uma vida inteira para explorar todas as nossas capacidades com um instrumento.

  Each instrument has its own difficulty, and it certainly takes more than a lifetime to explore all of our capabilities with one instrument.

• O que você considera serem as notas para o sucesso de quem aprende (para além do sol ou fá)?

  Ser consistente e responsável no estudo. Ter paciência, e evitar sentir qualquer tipo de stress relativamente às ambições de cada um (sem cair na perguiça!).

  No mundo da guitarra clássica temos um tópico que é muito importante para nós - a qualidade das nossas unhas para tocar. Lembro-me da primeira vez em que eu e os meus colegas de guitarra fomos "apanhados" por alunos de outros instrumentos a ter uma discussão sobre as nossa unhas e como isso lhes pareceu engraçado num contexto de conservatório.

  In the world of classical guitar we have a topic that is very important to us - the quality of our nails for playing. I remember the first time that my guitar colleagues and I were "caught" by students of other instruments having a discussion about our nails and how funny that seemed to them within a conservatory context.

• Qual seu segredo para ser o(a) Superprof preferido(a) pelos seus alunos?

  Uma interação familiar entre professor e aluno, e um encaminhamento pedagógico de nível profissional disponível para todos. Algo que pode ser feito tanto em pessoa como por webcam.
