About Sia
I am a guitar instructor with 10 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Contemporary Guitar Studies. My academic training allowed me to explore technique, music theory, performance, and stylistic diversity across genres. Over the years, I have worked with students of varying ages and abilities, guiding them toward confident, expressive musicianship. My teaching approach is grounded in patience, structure, and encouragement. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and understand the purpose behind each exercise. I adapt lessons to individual goals, whether students aim to perform, compose, or play for personal enjoyment. Clear explanation and steady reinforcement are central to my teaching style. Outside teaching, I continue refining my musicianship through practice, listening, and creative exploration. Teaching guitar is deeply rewarding because I witness students grow not only musically, but personally. Helping learners express themselves confidently through music remains one of the most meaningful parts of my work.

Guitar lessons are most effective when technical skills and musical expression develop together. My lessons focus on posture, finger independence, rhythm control, chord voicings, scales, strumming patterns, and expressive phrasing. Beginners build confidence by learning proper hand positioning, basic chords, simple melodies, and rhythmic stability. Intermediate learners explore barre chords, fingerstyle techniques, scale fluency, improvisation foundations, and song interpretation. Advanced learners refine tone control, stylistic accuracy, dynamic expression, and performance readiness. Every lesson emphasizes clarity, patience, and steady progression.
Lessons are carefully structured to match each student’s goals and learning style. Concepts are introduced gradually and reinforced through practical exercises, song-based learning, and focused repetition. Technical drills are balanced with creative exploration so students remain motivated and engaged. Mistakes are treated as learning opportunities, helping students develop resilience and self-trust. Feedback is precise, encouraging, and designed to support long-term improvement.
Learning guitar strengthens coordination, focus, and emotional expression. Many students gain confidence as they begin to play complete pieces and express themselves musically. My goal is to help learners build a strong technical foundation while discovering joy, creativity, and confidence through guitar playing.
