About Phyllis
Can music theory feel as natural as speaking your native language? We bridge that gap by using custom backing tracks so you can practice soloing at home with a professional sound. These tracks replicate the feeling of playing in a band while you remain in your own space.
My BFA training informs how we approach ear training and maintenance of your instrument. Teens and returning learners alike benefit from this structured yet flexible methodology. It is always satisfying to hear a student finally lock into a rhythm they struggled with for weeks.

Patience remains the primary tool in my studio. I admit that music theory initially seemed like an impenetrable wall. Balancing my BFA from Concordia University with 12 years of practical experience has taught me how to break down complex fingerpicking and electric technique. I have guided 434 students through the challenges of reading tabs and mastering lead guitar.
Songwriting provides a creative outlet for those transitioning from academic drills. Sometimes a simple chord progression conveys more than a thousand words. My approach acknowledges that learning is rarely a linear path. I prefer to keep my guitar nearby even when I am not teaching.
