About Cheryl
You should expect your first guitar session to be remarkably unconventional and relaxed. Many students arrive assuming they need expensive gear to start learning effectively. I integrate reading sheet music and strumming patterns into our very first meeting. My 11 years of touring inform how I teach improvisation and soloing to absolute beginners. We will also address grade exam prep if you have specific goals in mind. I believe that playing music should feel as natural as speaking your native language. Teens and adults often find that these technical skills provide freedom on the instrument. I adjust the pace based on what you find most challenging during our time together. We will build a solid technical foundation that lasts for your entire musical journey. I look forward to hearing the music you want to create.

Music has been my constant companion for over 11 years spent performing across the Australian Latin music circuit. My Bachelor of Arts in Music and Spanish from the University of Melbourne provides the foundation for my teaching. I have guided countless students toward fluency on the fretboard. My methods simplify complex concepts like music theory and blues progressions. I regularly work with absolute beginners and teens who want to understand the instrument deeply. You will find that my approach remains patient and focused on clear communication. Mastering BARRE CHORDS or POWER CHORDS becomes an achievable task with consistent practice. I enjoy breaking down technical hurdles into manageable steps for every learner. My goal is to ensure you feel supported while navigating the nuances of the guitar.
